Men aren’t immune to the natural, physical effects of aging. While it can’t be avoided, being proactive in your skincare routine can help lessen the appearance of aging by reducing the risk of loose skin, wrinkles, fine lines, and age spots.

Fortunately, there are skin care options that help to reduce visible signs of aging in men by encouraging collagen production and stimulating cellular turnover.

Men’s skincare treatment options include microneedling, chemical peels, anti-aging and rejuvenating facials, and at-home skin care

What Are Microneedling Treatments?

Microneedling is a cosmetic treatment that uses a handheld device to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin.

These micro-injuries stimulate the body’s natural wound-healing process, which can lead to increased collagen and elastin production—which helps to stimulate cellular turnover. As a result, new skin tissue looks bright, firm, and toned.

Microneedling can help to improve the appearance of:

  • Fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scars
  • Saggy skin
  • Discolouration (dark spots and age spots)

Radiofrequency (RF) microneedling can also help reduce signs of aging. Unlike traditional microneedling, RF microneedling incorporates targeted heat to stimulate the body’s natural wound-healing process alongside micro-injuries.

RF microneedling can be used on the face, as well as other areas of the body like the neck, chest, and arms to help improve the appearance of skin all over.

Both microneedling procedures are quick, around 30 minutes, and require nearly no downtime. For ideal results, we encourage you to visit us for repeat sessions.

Be gentle with your skin after a microneedling session. Your skin may feel red and irritated. Drink plenty of water, keep your skin hydrated and moisturized, use sun protection, and avoid certain skincare products like retinol for a week.

How Do Chemical Peels Work?

A chemical peel involves applying a solution to your skin that exfoliates and removes the top layers of old, damaged skin. This cosmetic procedure promotes the growth of new skin cells, revealing smoother, more youthful-looking skin underneath.

Chemical peels help improve the appearance of skin by targeting:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Skin discolouration
  • Skin tone
  • Radiance

Additionally, the chemical exfoliation process can improve skin texture, fade dark spots, and reduce hyperpigmentation and acne scars, making your skin appear smoother and more radiant.

Because chemical peels remove dead skin cells, your skincare products can penetrate more effectively into the skin, enhancing the benefits of serums, moisturizers, and other anti-aging products.

How Much Time Do Chemical Peels Take?

A session for a light or medium chemical peel can take up to 30 minutes. A deep chemical peel can take up to 90 minutes. We can work with you to find the chemical peel treatment that is most suitable for your needs!

Chemical Peel Aftercare

It’s normal for your skin to feel sensitive, red, and irritated after a chemical peel treatment. It’s important to keep your body and skin hydrated and moisturized and wear plenty of sun protection. Within about 10 days, the peel should reveal new, fresh skin. Until then, avoid removing loose particles and unnecessary touching of your skin.

Chemical peels can be used with additional skincare treatments. Our skincare experts can recommend compatible treatments to help you get your desired results.

Anti-aging & Rejuvenating Facials

An anti-aging and skin rejuvenation facial is designed to target signs of aging:

  • Fine lines
  • Wrinkles
  • Dullness
  • Uneven tones

The Iconic Beauty Facial Experience

Our facials combine custom serums and masks from our SkinCeuticals line. We use a variety of techniques and specialized tools to help improve the overall appearance of your skin.

These facials take around 1 hour, and we’ll guide you through each step. We focus on using appropriate techniques to target your desired results.

We begin by cleansing your skin to remove dirt, oil, and impurities to help unclog pores for better product penetration. Then, we exfoliate the skin to remove dead skin cells and promote cellular turnover. Facial massages and electroporation technology help promote blood circulation, which in turn boosts collagen production and skin firmness.

At-Home Skin Care

Skin care products like vitamin C, retinol, and sunscreen play important roles in reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and maintaining healthy, youthful-looking skin.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is a powerful anti-aging product that helps to brighten skin, even skin tone, and leave you with a glowy and radiant complexion. When applied to the skin, vitamin C helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by encouraging collagen production

You can apply vitamin C in the morning or at night. Most people prefer to use it in the morning. Apply your choice of vitamin C after using a cleanser, and gently pat the product in. Wait a few minutes to let the product rest before following up with your moisturizer and sunscreen.

Retinol

Retinol is a form of vitamin A, which is well-known for its anti-aging properties. It stimulates cell turnover, promotes collagen production, and helps reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and dark spots. Regular use of retinol can improve skin texture and tone over time.

It’s important to apply retinol products in the evening after cleansing and before moisturizing. Start with a lower concentration and gradually increase usage to avoid irritation.

When you first incorporate retinol into your skincare routine, side effects are normal and can include:

  • Dry and flaky skin
  • Itchy skin
  • Skin discolouration
  • Acne

While vitamin C and retinol are effective skincare treatments that help reduce the appearance of fine lines and skin texture, they shouldn’t be applied together due to their different pH properties.

Sunscreen

SPF 50 helps protect your skin from harmful UV rays, which can accelerate skin aging, wrinkles, sunspots, and increase the risk of skin cancer.

Patch-test new products, introduce them gradually, and consult with a dermatologist or skincare professional for personalized recommendations based on your individual skin goals.
