We provide pre-treatment instructions to follow before your procedure. On the day of your treatment, we’ll apply numbing cream to improve your comfort. During the session, you may feel a sensation like small rubber bands snapping on the skin, which is generally considered tolerable.

The StarWalker uses 2 unique laser technologies, emitting powerful shock waves to break pigment into ultrafine particles that the body then eliminates. The body naturally moves fluid to the area to help flush away these particles.

The duration of your treatment sessions depends on the size of the area being treated and the intensity of your melasma. Typically, you can expect each session to last around 30 minutes with no downtime and only minimal recovery.

After your treatment, you might notice some slight erythema and redness—don’t worry, it’s all part of the process. You can jump back into your daily routine with no downtime. 

We recommend giving your skin a little extra love through moisturizing and sunscreen protection during the healing process.

Proper aftercare can help protect your skin and enhance the results of your melasma treatment.

• Moisturize: Your skin may feel sensitive or appear red after the treatment, similar to a mild sunburn. Use a gentle, hydrating moisturizer to soothe and hydrate. 
• Avoid sun exposure: Stay out of the sun, as your skin can be more sensitive to UV rays.
• Skip harsh products: Avoid exfoliants, retinoids, and other strong skincare products for at least 1 week post-treatment.
• Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water and moisturize regularly to support healing.

Every unique patient and condition deserves a personalized treatment plan. The number of sessions you need can vary based on factors like the depth or intensity of melasma, your skin type, or your unique response to treatment.

You might see noticeable results after your first session, but it’s perfectly normal to need a few more sessions. Typically, we recommend 4–8 sessions, spaced 3–4 weeks apart.
