What Should
I Expect?
The Conversation
The first step is a no-obligation consultation. During this conversation, we take the time to understand your unique skin concerns, medical history, and treatment goals.
Our team explains the Fotona StarWalker laser treatment process, potential results, and associated risks. We also provide you with the information you need to prepare for a successful experience.
The Process
We provide pre-treatment instructions to follow before your procedure. On the day of your treatment, we’ll apply numbing cream to improve your comfort. During the session, you may feel a sensation like small rubber bands snapping on the skin, which is generally considered tolerable.
The StarWalker uses 2 unique laser technologies, emitting powerful shock waves to break pigment into ultrafine particles that the body then eliminates. The body naturally moves fluid to the area to help flush away these particles.
The duration of your treatment sessions depends on the size of the area being treated and the intensity of your melasma. Typically, you can expect each session to last around 30 minutes with no downtime and only minimal recovery.
The Results
After your treatment, you might notice some slight erythema and redness—don’t worry, it’s all part of the process. You can jump back into your daily routine with no downtime.
We recommend giving your skin a little extra love through moisturizing and sunscreen protection during the healing process.
